Yeh right. Like King Herod looking after the needs and aspirations of babies.

I like to think he was being a bit wry over that comment 73.

I hope so, UTF. I loathe tories, and all that they stand for. Which is, in one word, MONEY. Remember the story in the Bible about the money-lenders in the temple? No, perhaps not. Our society is plagued by money-grabbers. The root of all evil.

it's a very good letter from ghengis. the thing to notice here is that you have had a standard reply. the way around this is to reply with specific queries asking them to be specifically answered. that way, they can't send out automated replies.
it's also no good just one person doing this. their letterbox needs to be inundated with these queries to get them to take any notice. volume is the key here at this time.
yes..... we will show them that we mean business when we go to the table with a yes vote from the ballot.
but if we can show them we mean business before this, then they might just change their mind. i'm not saying they will but surely it's better to exhaust every avenue of opportunity before we even think about going out the doors?

'73 - its the old sh*t sandwich technique innit! I am no fan of the Tories either believe me, in fact I can't see me voting for any one of the big three parties again in the foreseable future.

I don't see the point in being too rude to them at this stage.......it will come though depending on his reply! ;-)

quite agree there. invite them round etc but don't be rude. now's not the time to vent any anger. that will come depending on how far we go.
yes, none of us are happy at the moment but let's keep our heads clear and exhaust every avenue before going down the strike route.

they might not listen but at least we will have tried.

My MP flatly refuses to sign any EDMs. He reckons that they are a waste of money. My last MP wouldn't sign them because, apparently, members of the Cabinet are not allowed to. I still can't get my head around living in a very, very working class area and having a bloody tory as our MP.

You should try living in the attorney generals constituency. Mind you he does turn out for the odd blue rinse society afternoon teas.

EDM's are ok but like you have said, some refuse to sign them.
just write them a letter instead with specific points you want answering.
that way they can't give a standard reply and if they do, write back.
