Retained firefighters to be given access to fire service pension scheme

Brilliant

I'm not sure how it applies to those retired already as I haven't checked but those 55 or over and eligible for retirement then yes although I think you've overestimated the return. It will basically be comparable to your return versus your investment as a wholetime firefighter. You're not seriously arguing your return is too great for your investment are you?

my only concern is that it's not used as an excuse eg "one of several pillars met" as the pension dispute was well on the way before this part was added at the last minute.

There was a whiff of something deeply suspicious in the shall we shan't we add this to the dispute debate.

The nays were in case it became impossible to achieve and conversely if it was delivered too easily.

I should add that my suspicions were around me believing that senior officials knew that it was to be easily delivered when they added it to the dispute.

There, that's me off the Christmas cards list again.

Of course it will, thats why they've done it, call me cynical.

i wouldn't have said it if i didn't think the same. it's an easy win for the union and also an easy one for the government to say they've given us something.
that being said, in all honesty it could have simply been added to push it along or bring the RDS into the dispute.

Appears to me the Government have already got you running round in circles.
Did they have this cunning plan in their minds two years ago ?
You decide.
Big Grin Jim didn't fix it for me.
