Judging by this the future of the FBU looks very bleak.
Jim didn't fix it for me.

Jo all the members have to do is refuse to contribute, I reckon most of them will do that rather than resign from the union.
But if they do this en masse then it will be a slap in the face to the EC who should have given their members a vote in this issue.
I hope most do the right thing and stay with their union.
We all have opinions, thank god they are not all the same, or there would be no debate.

Bill I'm not sure staying in the Union is the right thing anymore.
27 quid a month for a bunch of Autocrats to make decisions for you.
This is nothing short of scandalous.
Read those posts Bill on the facebook page.
I think I saw two that agreed with this decision from scores of posts.
It means mass resignations.
Now wait for the integration in to a bigger Union.
It's a ****ing disgrace.

Jo you may be correct about integration I would not argue with that, but leaving the union is a big decision to take, you are left with no protection in the event of needing help.
It would be simpler just to withdraw from the political levy, but lets wait and see.
Many will threaten to leave in initial anger, but on reflection will rethink.
Plus Jo when I was an FBU member the union for me was my divisional officials not the EC, who seem to have lost touch with reality.

Not this time Bill.
People have had enough.
I know of two people who resigned just yesterday.

Jo I hope you are wrong because the people who will suffer are not MW and the EC,
I have no doubt his and their pensions will be generous, and mw may even get into parliament. Jo it's guys like you and me that will suffer.

From Facebook
Quote:FBU (Cumbria)
Yesterday the FBU decided at Recall Conference in Blackpool to re affiliate to the Labour Party. Reading some of the comments on social media and elsewhere the decision is controversial to some within our Trade Union. 'That's politics' and everyone is entitled to their opinion, however some opinions that have been expressed regarding Jeremy Corbyn are just simply factually incorrect. I would politely ask FBU Members to consider that Jeremy Corbyn is a founder member of the FBU Parliamentary Group, has stood shoulder to shoulder with Firefighters on the picket line, promised to lead a Labour Party committed to ending austerity, and crucially oppose the Conservative agenda to dismantle public services including the Fire Service.
John McDonnell & Jeremy Corbyn are friends of the FBU and support the Fire Brigades Union, in the face of devastating cuts to the Fire Service in Cumbria our Members need the support of our friends. Now is the time to express unity within our movement and focus our minds on keeping Fire Stations Open, safety of our firefighters and the public, and prevent the return of 18th century working conditions!
Please support the FBU & our friends in the Labour Party.

Many organisations and individuals are friends of the FBU and the membership.
But you don't require to affiliate to them.
I have a Jimmy bunnet, I will eat it if Jeremy Corbyn gets to number 10.
The FBU have affliliated themselves to a party in disarray. I doubt if Corbyn will remain leader through 2016. Labour will go back to their old ways with the likes of Andy Birnam , or the blairite Liz Kendal in charge. The FBU will be left with egg on their face.
But more importantly how many members voted labour, and the members should have been given their say in a democratic vote.
We all have opinions, thank god they are not all the same, or there would be no debate.
