Kos worth a look. The locals bend over backwards to look after you. Plenty to do, and a pleasing sea breeze to keep cooled down when it get's too hot.
It can get well in to the 30's in the summer, but the sea breeze takes the bite out of it. Lots of markets and sea food places to visit by boat and bus, if you are in to that. Ferries to Turkey for a day out. Lots of good beaches to spend the day.
You can travel around the island by bus or Ferry for pennies.
The old town of Kos has the castle that is worth seeing, along with the port.
Just avoid the time when the hordes arrive from Germany, if you canWink
Now freed from the asylum.

We went to Kefalonia again in the summer and stayed in Lasse, Fiscardo and back to Skala. What I really like about Kefalonia it that I didn’t see any British bars, no Macdonalds, KFC etc , no Chinese or Indian restaurants and I only saw Sky Sports advertised once. It was just good quality Greek food, beer and lovely people.
