More than likely it is.

Two of my RDS colleagues at my station are more qualified than than our WT trainers but they still have to go to the trauma, FPOS, courses or whatever the latest sound bite for first aid is.

It seems to me that it is daft to underskill your best assets especially when they could be utilised for training within their own station and the stations that surround them (Including WT).

Unfortunately, although they hold qualifications well in excess that that the Scottish FRS could aspire to provide, they are not allowed to pass on their knowledge and experience to their peers.

Daft isn't it?

It's about as daft as me now having a working at height qualification for the first time in my life 18 months after I retired!!!
