Instead thanks for all of your efforts on pensions over the years.
As Bill has posted, many thanks for the reply. The compensation issue will be interesting. Hopefully the hierarchy of the FBU will issue an update sooner rather than later....

2nd April 2021 is the earliest point at which a FF can retire, having both 30 years of pensionable service and having received zero protection*.

That's a 92 scheme pension which is a full 6 years short.

* born on 2nd April 1971 or later.

Jan 2021 pension bulletin contains the following update

FPS

Age discrimination remedy consultation update

We expect that HM Treasury (HMT) will publish their response to the consultation on changes to the transitional arrangements to the 2015 public service pension schemes in early February. In preparation, we have created a new section on the FPS regulations and guidance website for age discrimination remedy, which splits out the existing content from the earlier page under Legal Landscape. We will update the new section as more information becomes available.

The consultation document from July last year is worth a read for those interested. Section 3 contains some interesting points, notably that the 2015 scheme is viewed as a totally viable scheme, which would kind of rule out a new "2022" scheme. It also states that the primary legislation needed to remedy the transition will be laid April 2022 at the earliest.

I'm afraid it's a wait and see on when 92 ends, fair to say the government want it to be March 22 but that might not happen for various reasons. I think there's a glimmer of hope for those retiring soon they could get the option of 92 or split, but as for those already on a split I cant see them getting what there owed until after remedy could be years.

They won’t pay out until all avenues have been finalised omegaman. Sadly I agree also it could take years to sort out. But let’s give credit to Sean Starbuck and the fire brigades union for what they achieved was remarkable. I remember posters on here giving nn a hard time years ago due to his informed optimism. Well nn was proven correct.
We all have opinions, thank god they are not all the same, or there would be no debate.

Looks like pension end date is March 31st 2022. Also older members that had essentially open ended protection will also go on the 2015 scheme in April 22.
