ROOT Membership
#1
Hi,
Was looking to join ROOT Membership and have completed the form. I have been retired for more than 180 days. Section 4 states Brigade Commitee Approval....what does that imply....Does it mean I need somebody currently serving to verify who I am?

Regards QaUKe

Hi QaUKe...I think they have to discuss who you are and agree you can be a ROOT member..if people object to you joining FBU out of trade you will be told....so like someone at your Station/ Dept will say yes he's ok....I think it stops the SC#Bs joining back up !
If you get in touch with who you worked with they should do the rest......that's how it used to be ..not sure if its changed though !
Good luck
Hope that helps

When I retired I sent an email to membershipservices@fbu.org.uk
They changed my Membership type, altered the direct debit, and even congratulated me on my retirement, it all happened very quickly, I’m guessing it’s just a bog standard reply.
