Crazy World
#1
Is it just me or are we all living in a world none of us could have predicted just a few years ago.
And it’s not just the antics of Donald Trump across the pond I am referring to, it’s the whole gambit of changes which have resulted in a world I feel less and less able to understand or concur with.

We have never lived in a period of our lives when our democratic way of life is being threatened all around us, where our legal institutions are being sidelined at the convenience of those in power, and where truth is as rare as hens teeth. The new truth seems to be whatever comes out of someone’s mouth, not the truth itself. As a currency truth has been devalued to such an extent that many are now incapable of knowing what the truth is, and institutions like the BBC now have to verify what they put out.

What happened to the world we all grew up in, where has it disappeared to, will it ever return.

All of the above could have been written in the 1930s, and that’s what really worries and concerns me.
Sadly I fear we are living in very dangerous times.
When those in power don’t face justice, when those in power conveniently lie as a norm and escape justice, it’s time to wake up, it’s time to be concerned, and it’s time to take cognisance of all that’s going on in our world. If we fail to do so then the tiny minority who seek to control us with their false promise and their lies, will take us all to a place we don’t want to be.
We all have opinions, thank god they are not all the same, or there would be no debate.

In the US right now they are grabbing people of the street, forcing them into cars, putting them into detention centres, dressing them in overalls, shaving their hair, putting them in chains, then flying them to places in Central America. And all of this without any recourse to the law, even ignoring a judge which is in breech of their constitution. In effect right now there are no immigration laws in the US. These people are all supposed to be gang members, rapists, thieves, and undesirables. Some have been deported for their views, or the cloths they are wearing, or the tattoos they have. Some where in America legally.
University students are being removed because of their political views, and the universities themselves are being threatened with sanctions if they don’t curtail such “behaviour”. People expressing anti Israeli views are being deported.
The American legal system is also under threat, with extreme right wing members of the federal government threatening some legal firms who defend so called “undesirables”

Then we have Elon Musk a facist along with the ideology which has gripped a controlling minority in the US. The 76 million who voted for Trump did vote for this, but gradually democratic institutions are being sidelined over the pond.

I suspect that Trump is being worked from the back, being set up to fail, all part of Project 2025, very scary stuff indeed. Should we be worried possibly not, should be concerned, definitely.
