What does act accordingly involve ? I think they may have a very big problem if a no vote is returned.
Big Grin Jim didn't fix it for me.

No 1% pay rise and a review of the grey book.

Are they going to negotiate at a level above 1%?

I don't see how they have a big problem.

They have recommended acceptance of the offer and the membership will either agree with that or disagree with that.

If the membership reject(and they may very well do, who knows) then the FBU will inform the employers that the offer on the table is not acceptable in it's current form.

They will then see if the employers step forward with a new offer or if they walk away then the FBU will have no choice but to commence a membership campaign preparing for national strike action at the appropriate time in line with conference policy.

If the employers fail to improve the offer then I would expect(my opinion) a ballot for national strike action on pay to be forthcoming over the next few months.

First step is to await the outcome of the consultative ballot and then as I have said once the members decide then we move forward with their decision and if that leads to a strike ballot then so be it.

i would hope that a NO vote would make the employers stand up and take notice. it would certainly show that the members are waking up and starting to take notice rather than being led.

that being said, lots of people got their voting papers yesterday and the people that i have spoke to know nothing about the vote and will just vote what the EC recommend on the paper.

maybe they shouldn't recommend? maybe they should just put the pro's & cons on a bit of paper and say..... you decide? because that paper was very biased!

God help us if the EC were not even willing to provide any leadership at all. It's a **** deal but it's their **** deal.

That's true Lou.
At least those on here(whether we agree or not) take an interest and are up to speed with what is going on.

I had a guy yesterday approach me and ask about pensions. He is 47 and fully protected but said to me "so in 2015 I will start in a new pension scheme"

Despite everything that has went on for months he was still unclear about pensions and your right the same will happen on pay.

Some members read and understand stuff as it comes into branches or home addresses but there is still a lot who do not.

I know some have said that it will be accepted and certainly most I have spoken to said they were taking the money but if what is getting said on here is going on in other parts of the country then I think this one may very well be a close call between accept and reject even with a recommendation in my opinion.
