What is an AFA vehicle?

It's a Range Rover crewed by two, A CM and a FF, and is turned out to all AFA'S a maximum of ten minutes travel time, instead of sending a full LOR. It requires Fire Control to ask more searching questions hopefully in order that they can downgrade the response. Its gonna go Pete Tong

surely it's only a false alarm once the crews have investigated it. Until then its a notification of a fire, how can 2 people safely check a premise?

Only one person checks the premise, the driver stays with the vehicle.

The West Mids are going to roll more of them out across the brigade, along with a sh1t load of purpose built BRV's. These are Toyota Hilux 4X4's, crewed by three with a cab built on the back, containing a self regulating pump and Hose Reel, 250 Litres of water and minimal kit such as battery operated Holmatro. it carries two lengths of 64MM in order to set into a hydrant but if your incident is more than two lengths away then you are proper ****ed, as has already happened. They are not restricted by incident type either so can rock up to anything and everything.

In the WMFS these days, if you need to send an Assistance Message, then you have to specify the number of personnel required, how many officers, how many FF's, so that they can mobilise these heaps of sh1te

Obviously morale is cack to say the least

That sir is madness.

That is just waiting for serious injury or death to happen.

Of course, once the calls are down, no need for the AFA vehicle soa nother 3 FF's gone?
And this for the busiest pump in the brigade, so what chance others got?

The news has already filtered down to the station that once the calls are down, then it is anticipated that the AFA vehicle will "naturally morph into a BRV"

We are all doomed....

Non as far as I know. The ref to 10 in GMC is downgrades losing a pump either through the day or night shift.

All the stuff I have has been put on the cuts map, but very few brigades have responded. Ah well you can but try...
