Ill health?
#21
Hi, could anyone help with a pensions enquiry, I have recently gone through a period of ill health due to mental health issues, the brigade doctor has said I can't go back operational and the brigade are saying that there is no other work available so it comes down to the pensions department.
My retirement date is 20th April 2020 at which I would have completed 30 years im in tapered protection until June 2020.
Pension department are querying whether my retirement age should be 55 and not age related. I will be 52 on 15th April 2020.
Many thanks
Dandy

Your retirement age is at any point from now. If you reach your 30 years on the 20th April 2020, five days after turning 52, then that is perfectly fine. 55 has no relevance to your circumstances.
