My post was more of an enquiry to post #6 from Bill. Accrual of your pension is daily while in the job, my summation was the same for retirement. Bill advanced a thought that it may accrue on full months not daily. Hopefully that makes sense. I retire mid month April.
Cheers.

Your question, as it is written, doesn't make sense nor does your clarification.

'Accrual of your pension is daily while in the job, my summation was for retirement'. Put simply, you don't accrue anything in regard to your pension in retirement.

I did think that what you were asking was how much of the annual pension increase is an individual entitled to when they are retired, and does it depend on how many days they were retired for as to how much of that increase is applied to them. I clarified this particular point and is the question I thought you were asking, and I still think that was the intent of your question. You have to be retired for a year to qualify for the full pension increase, any less and the increase is pro rata.

Can you confirm or deny the above is or isn't the answer to your question?

We can quibble forevermore as to whether your original post 'makes perfect sense' or not, I say it doesn't and you say it does but the intent of my responses isn't to criticise how you asked a question, it is merely to try to provide an answer to the best of my ability.

I think one of the things I've brought to this webpage is pension information but if you want to be defensive and alienate me because I'm genuinely struggling to understand your question, as it is written, then I'll wish you good day and all the best in getting an answer to the question you're asking.

@Not...you have a peculiar way of saying "my responses isn't to criticise how you asked a question" when you start off with stating that what I wrote is nonsensical. As for your last paragraph I think you may have had too much sensitivity training. Thanks @Not for your time. Thanks @bill for the information. Hopefully back to pension admin a little wiser.

When trying to help I have little patience when the people I'm trying to help won't confirm or deny whether my well intentioned responses answered their question or not. You've simply doubled down on how well written your original question was, when it wasn't. I've answered 100s of questions on pensions, not all on here, and I've never struggled as hard as this to understand what exactly was being asked, but you do you. Good day.
