If we don’t want people crossing the channel, then offer them another way of claiming asylum. Process their claims in the EU. Then as I have already stated anyone crossing the Chanel would be de facto illegal, and should be sent back to their own country.
Also some countries allow asylum seekers to work whilst they are waiting for a decision, why not do the same here, that way those able to do so will not be as much of a burden to our country.
We all have opinions, thank god they are not all the same, or there would be no debate.

One option would be to re join the EU and work under the same laws as the rest of Europe. We didn't have the boat problem before Brexit!
Cameron was the PM who took the Brexit vote to the lied to public. The moment the vote result came in he threw his towel on the ring and ran away. What an arse!

I have no doubt that the decision to overturn the verdict on the Bell Hotel in Epping will lead to more bother, and will have damaged the government. But what choice did they have.
Labour have promised to stop using hotels by 2029, speed up the asylum process further than they already have done reducing it to 6 months, under the Tories it was 2-3 years, it’s currently one year.
Asylum hotel ruling won't feel like much of a victory at Home Office https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c7vlpdqeg4qo

What struck me on the news was a number of the people who commented in Epping seemed to be the "type" of person who voted for Brexit. But the reporters did not or would not ask the question!

They interviewed three of the protesters and whilst watching I managed to keep my calm.
But when they got to the woman with the life sized cut out of Nigel Farage standing in her conservatory I lost the plot, my neighbours must have heard me shouting at the tv.

All types of decent people voted for Brexit stressed, I have friends who voted for Brexit, and some posters on here who I have much respect for voted for Brexit. Can you blame them after 43 years of negativity, 43 years of being told that we had lost our sovereignty, that laws were being imposed upon us. I don’t remember anyone telling us that in 1973 we were the sick man of Europe, and when we left the EU we were the fifth richest country on planet earth. Then we had the lies, and the false promises during the campaign from Johnson, Jacob Rees Mogg, Dominic Cummings, and Nigel Farage. All of whom now reckon we never got the Brexit they campaigned for, and don't wish to discuss Brexit.
But I am glad to report my friends have changed their minds, but sadly either through pride or simply not looking at the facts some still maintain their support for Brexit. It’s a well known fact that if we were asked to vote now there would be an overwhelming vote to remain, but sadly I don’t reckon I will be here long enough to see that day.
I often think why did we have this vote, it was madness, all our allies warned against it, even Obama got involved. Brexit divided this country and many up here are still bitter at what they feel was forced upon Scotland who voted two to one against Brexit.
The office of budget responsibility reckoned Brexit would cost us £100 billion a year or 4% of our GDP. Many questioned this figure, but last month it was reported that this figure has been reached, the OBR now reckon it could now be even higher than 4% of GDP.
There is nothing good about Brexit, and no matter what Farage and co state, there is nothing “good” Brexit.

The simple answer is the super rich that use tax havens and unscrupulous accountants to hide their money and avoid tax were all panicking. The European parliament were looking at how they could close down all the tax avoidance and force companies and individuals to actually pay their fair share of tax in the countries that they made their money. The super rich wanted out of the EU so they could carry on getting richer and not paying tax.
The EU didn't actually managed to bring in any tax avoidance laws!
A couple of years ago Rees Mogg was being questioned by the parliamentary accounts committee over a £6m loan he received and didn't declare. He claimed it was a private matter and was just a loan from his own company to help with the renovations of his London home. The truth was that via tax avoidance he had paid no tax getting his money to a tax haven and was then loaning it back to himself. This then ment he could claim tax relief on the loan interest. But he had never paid tax on the £6m in the first place:mad:

Remember the Monty Python movie Life of Brian quote from John Cleese
“What have the Romans ever done for us”
Well let’s ask what has Brexit done for us.
Even if you don’t agree with the figures put out by the OBR the fact is Brexit is costing us dearly some experts reckon £2 billion a week.
When buying anything costing more than £38 from the EU you are subject to an £11 handling fee from Parcelforce and your purchase is subject to VAT charges. When sending anything into the EU you will have three forms to fill out.
We used to be able to retire in the EU, now we are required to have expensive health insurance, prove that we are financially self sufficient, we are subject to a 100% property tax when buying property in Spain, and the whole process is more convoluted.
Getting our pets into the EU is more difficult, and more expensive.
We can now only remain in the EU for 90days, then cannot return for another 90 days.
We will be subject to the new entry system ETIAS. This means we will be required to pay for access every three years and be subject to biometric surveillance which will slow things up at the border.
We now have to pay to use our phones whilst in the EU, this was free when we were in the EU.
If you’re running a business selling goods or services to the EU things just got more expensive and more time consuming. So much so that some businesses within the EU don’t want to bother as they don’t do enough business with us, and some businesses here have either moved themselves over the channel or don’t do business with the EU.
Let’s not even mention northern Ireland and the Good Friday agreement, why should we, we were not informed about this during the campaign.
Cooperation between many industrial and scientific bodies has been limited or curtailed since Brexit.
Those who perform concerts who are entertainers are suffering terribly due to Brexit. This has been well highlighted.
Our fishing industry and our farming are suffering greatly due Brexit, and also due to some of the trade deals done under the Tories after Brexit.
Many large worldwide companies including car companies, views us as “ the gateway to Europe” they set up businesses here, well we are no longer that gateway, and many are moving across the channel.
Connections with police forces have been curtailed due to Brexit.
I am doing this of the top of my head, and I am sure there are more things to report.
please feel free to add.
So on the plus side what has Brexit done for us, I honestly cannot think of one thing.
and please don’t say we got our sovereignty back, we never lost it. Had we lost it we could never had a vote to leave.

Oh bye the way my dad was Irish, so I am seriously thinking of getting an Irish passport.
And if we end up with Farage as our PM, I will be voting SNP.
Sorry had enough, and putting that chancer into no 10 will be the straw that broke the camels back for me.
