whilst i full understand our GS sensitive position ..i would have preferred Matt to say something along the lines of" well we do not support phoneix as it may not be an accurate representation of all the facts but we as a union must question why so many memebers feel the need to gain information through non officail medium"
i still fully support Matt and the good guys but london bods are getting restless , it all seems too polite up top ...we want people to start speaking out beacuse i gaurantee if london fold over shifts due to weak leadership then i fear london reigon will collapse ...
the girls and boys are ready and chomping at the bit to take action defo short of a strike but it must be a crystal clear directive not some " we recommend our members do this " drivel......after the lsi farce ..im confident many feel shifts is our last stand -so all top union bods please cease with the pleasantries and show us some strong aggressive bold leadership ....regards biff :Y
so it began........if only the public knew

AT,
The legal help you suggest will cost money..... As a non-union member how much will your contribution be?

Excuses. You left you weren't thrown out. It went beyond protest. Then you scabbed . You were a strike breaker. You could have rejoined. You chose not to. In the strike you chose to side with management.
The rest of the members have to put up with your local union leadership, and have to put up with your shifts. Why are you so unique? Because unlike you, they are not all cu.nts.
There were others who childishly left the union in protest after the pay dispute but who rejoined when the local strike was called. You didn't.

You don't understand the way democracy works.
The Executive Council passed the resolution moved by the EC member of Region 13 Tam MacFarlane. The General Secretary was on leave. The Assistant General Secretary spoke in oppositionto the resolution . The majority of the Executive Council were angered by this and instructed that the all memebsr circular must be shown to the EC before being sent to the members.
When the Circular was presented to the Executive Council at its next business meeting in December, the Executive Council agreed to a proposal by Alan McLean to re-write almost the whole circular.
That is democracy. The Executive Council are there to hold the national officials to account. It is the check and the balance.
It is the membership's job through its brigade and regional officials to hold the Executive Council to account. It doesn't happen.
The General Secretary cannot ignore the Executive Council. That would be to act outside of the rule book.

conned -i do understand exactly how it works ...at what point in your inability to scan rather than read my post did i say that i asked the gs to go against the EC ... What the members who voted matt in would liked to have seen some more palatable wording along the lines of wondering why members need to use alternative medium to find out what is really going on..and assuming your a union member then i know you will understand that ..i would suggest that you grow some brains but that would be spiteful wouldnt it?

I think the Twit is saying when the EC has said "these are the words which must be sent out on a circular" the GS couldn't write anything other than that. The EC were never going to write a balanced circular were they!
In other words to have written anything along the lines of what you were suggesting would be to go against what the EC told him to do.
You also ignore the fact that the GS had no intention of writing any circular at all. This is part of the EC agenda to try and cultivate distrust, enmity between Matt and his supporters. You seem to have fallen for it.
The title of the thread which you started was "let's grow some bollox" implying that the GS has no bollox, "it all seems to polite up top".
The Twit seems to have taken exception to the fact that you are attacking the GS.
Biff, if you don't want to get criticised, dont write critical posts and dont start critical threads.

accepted that i should have made my point about having bollox was directed at the up and coming london dispute ..i will be more precise next time..however it stil does not stop those at the top expressing their opinions , are we seriously saying that the EC is still so pro guiltychrist that they would not have allowed a release along the lines of "well we do not support phoneix as it may not be an accurate representation of all the facts but we as a union must question why so many memebers feel the need to gain information through non officail medium" ...beacuse if thats the case then it shows to me and others how much of an uphil struggle we still have
