Humberside brigade reps have signed an agreement on a new leave, and operational reserve policy, despite asking for feedback, and being warned by members of the potential pitfalls of the new agreements - specifically The operational reserve, which is basically a "framework agreement", (remember 2003. . ?) All this Despite one brigade official promising this would not be signed less than a week ago. Suspicions are that it has been agreed/signed as part of an agreement to bring north bank members back to home stations (who are over crewed), from the south bank stations (who are undercrewed), short term gain for them, but to the long term detriment of all. Sellout springs to mind for the majority of FBU and non fbu members. Yes Humberside are facing challenges as are many services, and changes are required, but looks like the representatives have been played like puppets by the management so they can bring their buddies home......! Me, had enough of the lack of vision by the reps and their short sighted views, not to mention the lie, I'm out, and may be followed by others.
Just look back 2 months to what i posted & what your replies where!
I wont be following you m8, youre following me, im out already!

You should not blame local reps, this is a systemic failure of leadership from the very top, ***** and dark have not got a set of balls between them, billy big mounths I will search through some of their posts on here, I kept most of them, even though admin removed them to cover up any embarrassment.

Well although I have my disagreements with the national peeps, this is mainly based on what has happened locally. The agreement on operational reserve is in effect a framework agreement, and while I agree with some service managers that some changes are needed, this was agreed to at the expense of many, I believe, and I'm not alone, so that " buddies", could return to the north bank from the south. There are massive gaping holes in the agreement local reps have signed, that have been pointed out, and the potential changes and adaptations that will follow are enormous, maybe not this year, but next or the year after.
We all know what can happen when we are signed up to framework agreements.
We used to have very good union leadership locally, and I never thought I would ever have to consider leaving the union, even after the 2003 debarkle, but clearly local reps are short sighted and have learned nothing. Very sad.
The old values have gone! its down to the "every man for himself" mentality now, even watch members are stabbing each other in the back to look after themselves, its a culture that the current management have encouraged, divide & conquer in action again!
I dont agree with your constant "digs" about north bank, youre falling into the exact trap there my friend! if it wasnt for the ridiculous mismanagement of personell the situation would never have arisen!

'framework agreements'
sounds awfully similar to the fiasco that has gone on in Cleveland. Be assured, there will be changes made and agreed under the guise of that 'framework agreement'
tweeks and misinterpretations at all levels of management and officials/members
Be sure of the mandate you give your officials and ensure all meetings are properly minuted and that records are accurate and secured for future reference.

Why worry sub, you're not a member anymore so don't need to worry about what the officials do.

UV, it's not a dig at the north bank, far from it, got many many good friends there, and spent quite some time there myself.
I may be wrong but I think there was a promise/carrot dangled, in front of the reps about temps on the south bank being sent home, and fewer permanent postings to the south bank, where the posts are.
Of course they want back, who wouldn't, but signing up to the OR, with all its clear faults so it could be achieved as I suspect as a factor was ridiculous.
There needs to be change, there will be cuts, of that I'm sure, but where was the consultation with members throughout the whole of the service? Not just Hull, but Beverley, Brid, S****horpe, Grimsby, and Immingham, maybe I missed it, maybe I didn't.
I do know I was categorically told by one of the reps last week it would not be signed up for due to the shortcomings. This week - IMHO, signed and sold out.
It won't directly affect me, and I can't see the big changes / additions to the policy coming this year, but they will come, of that I am sure, and the remaining membership will be the worse for it
Very short sighted I'm afraid.
