FBU should they drop the B?
#1
Given that we are all Fire Service now should they change to FSU?

No doubt this rebranding will cost £000's and probably involve a fact finding mission to somewhere like Bolivia or the likes to see how they rebranded after the revolution.

or stay as we are? Given we are the union?

London is still a fire brigade.
Be who you are and say what you feel...because those who matter... don't mind...and those who mind... don't matter.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something.

Opinions are like arseholes; everybody has one, but nobody wants to hear anyone elses.

Being honest may not get you a lot of friends but it'll always get you the right ones.

Don't let the 'do gooders' near a dictionary...a brigade is defined as 'an organised body of men'....oh dear where does that leave the 'pc crews'

Changing the name to Fire & Rescue Services Union would make perfect sense, in all fairness.

how about an alternative, keep the current name, save the money for fighting for CoS and open membership to ALL fire service employees, including non-uniformed staff, to increase numbers and the impact of any industrial action.
Caius Petronius, Roman centurion, AD69

We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams we would be reorganised. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganising, and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress, while producing confusion, inefficiency and demoralisation.

aint modernisation a wonderful thing!!

Be an example to your men, in your duty and in private life. Never spare yourself, and let the troops see that you don't in your endurance of fatigue and privation. Always be tactful and well-mannered and teach your subordinates to do the same. Avoid excessive sharpness or harshness of voice, which usually indicates the man who has shortcomings of his own to hide.
Field Marshall Erwin Rommel, Wehrmacht General, 1891-1944
