I would just like to say that to close a thread without any explanation is just plain ignorant and shows total disrespect for those who were using it.

Those who were using it , including myself, we're not adding any value to the thread.
The point about closing the thread has been made. Why not share information now on this thread.

GAD have restated that they are on track to get the finalised guidance out by the end of July.

Thanks Ns for starting this thread. We all need some central point for information 'sharing' about the FACTS especially when I was reading something on a NARPO site the other day where a former colleague had no idea about this compensation claim and was asking about relevant dates. So there are still many people out there who are unaware of what has been taking place over the last 5 or 6 years and are seeking information. I agree with Ian Dunning in regard to the closure of the thread, a ridiculous decision obviously taken by an over bearing 'parent' like figure. Anyway best not get into the politics of the previous sites or the facebook site for that matter. South Yorkshire Police Pensions Dept have confirmed they are identifying all officers who are affected by the decision ready for the calculations to be made and a speedy payment.

I think it's worth saying that whilst employers are busily identifying potential recipients for increased commutation lump sums it may be the case that individuals may not have kept their former employers updated on their current address.

Well I said I would not post until either GAD published or if something substantial came up.
Well it has, Bill Milne has verbally confirmed what was published in the mail. So we can now take it that he got what he has indicated. The only part of the puzzle we don't have is is age. But with amount he commuted at £7400 and what he received without interest this means that the 2004 CF is almost certainly greater than the 2006 CF for a 50 year old. Now depending on his age this differntial would increase if say he was 55 on retirement. So I look forward to seeing GADs figures hopefully within the next 12 days to confirm this. Best of luck everyone.
We all have opinions, thank god they are not all the same, or there would be no debate.
