Scottish officials at Conservative conference
#1
Much debate around the stations today about Scottish officials paying for a stand at the Conservative party conference last week (apparently even posing for pictures with them). Many of us are now reconsidering our membership if our dues are being paid to this disgraceful anti trade union bunch. (Trying my hardest to keep my terminology within site rules on foul language):mad:

Why not?
The whole shooting match is upside down
The Toties raise National Insurance Contributions for the self employed and cause a stink

Because most self employed people these are erstwhile working class but somehow a self employed plumber probably Regards themselves as a middle class Tory voter
Then wham just as the number of self employed increases because it's the only way some folk can earn a living they start taxing them
Just to bring in a few hundred million
Break your election mandate and the Tory papers are up in arms
The furore over this ' storm in a teacup' is welcome noise to May and Hammond
That's why they are laughing out loud
Because nobody has noticed the billions they are cutting elsewhere

Yep laughing out loud
And I bet they laughed loudest whilst doing for photos with died in the wool trade unionists

And I would also bet as they walked away chuckling to each other they muttered

' MUGS'
As if we are going to consider the Fire Service when further cuts come

The tories just love social climbing tradesmen and women

Could be worse
They could go to
The SNP conference
And thank the party
That introduced The SFRS
And are systematically
Dismantling it beyond
Any known Recognition

Oh come on tornado you are saying the snp are to blame for the sfrs, Jojo is thinking of leaving the fbu because they went to a Tory conference and I am told to look in a mirror for voting labour, not much left. Looks like the monster raving loonies for me then. Big GrinBig Grin
We all have opinions, thank god they are not all the same, or there would be no debate.

I think jojo.s point might be that the officials spent 3 grand of members money for the stall without even consulting or mentioning to said members !
Used to be a Union but unfortunately its not the case political or other feelings dont count when those that think they have the power make decisions for the masses .
the Scottish FBU is declining rapidly !

I don't have any issues with individuals choice of political party, we live in a democracy but I really do take umbrage at my union giving money to the Tories, they are most definitely not a party of the workers or a friend to the unions so why do our officials think they will support us in anyway ffs just look at our pensions and I can't believe anyone would seriously believe it's better to finance the conservatives over the snp. Personally I don't think any of them are worth our money right now

I got that but at this rate it's our reps that are looking like the monster raving loonies. My dad and grandad were both great supporters of the trade unions never more so than during the miners strike so I am really struggling right now and I can't see any reason to support my union anymore

Are you saying jojo
That Labour and
the SNP are the
workers parties
Labour who saw
Our forefathers
Almost starved back
To work
Labour that stabbed
Us the back in 2003

And the snp that
Are now responsible
For the circus that
Is now the SFRS

I sympathise with
Anyone who hasnt
Got an idea who to
Vote for up here

The fbu up here
Went to bed with
Labour and they
killed us
The fbu more recently
Went to bed with the snp
And now look at the state
Of the service and how
Its run
So maybe the fbu
Are just masochistic
And self harming by
By giving the tories a turn

No what I'm saying is any union who gives money to the Tories should be bloody ashamed of itself and whoever made the decision should resign now
