Has anyone had experience either personally or anecdotally of tinnitus? Have you any advice about how to deal with it, supplements that may help or coping strategies? Thanks.

I have had it for years, sometimes it is unbearable, other times it's unnoticeable, I went to a tinnitus clinic years ago, but not much use, my coping strategy is to replace it with other sound, so at night I put the radio on, with 30 minutes 'sleep' feature, sometimes I have to do this several times a night.

I was talking to a guy on a training course, outside if the fire service and he had a cochlear implant, which he said helped him. It doesn’t get rid of the tinnitus but made it more bearable.

I also know of a guy, on the run at my recent Service, who wears hearing aids that are tuned to provide some sort of reverse noise, or mask noise to alleviate the problem a little .
