Leaving after sellout
#11
Preaching to the converted here sub, but to be honest, did it make any difference to the outcome of the PR system , when after all the consultation & branch meetings telling them to poke it, a local official walked in & signed up for it!!??........
Its a common FBU trait from the top to the bottom, theyre all pi**ing in the same pot in my opinion! Wouldnt trust any of them anymore.

Does not take long for old Chesty to pop out to defend inept officials?

UKsub How many are talking about leaving the FBU?
UV have you joined another Union?

How can this happen when the top officials National Officer, EC Member, Regional Secretary & Regional Chair are all from Humberside??
Are they no longer interested in their Brigade, too busy climbing the Union Career ladder?

ps love the way sc u nthorpe gets blanked out due to the c word!!!Big Grin

UV, So your not blaming anyone above local Brigade Official level? Regions are supposed to monitor what's being signed off by its Brigade Officials aren't they?

Beggers belief doesnt it...! I just cant believe they cant see whats comming.

They complain about apathy, then when a response is made, and opinions given, they are rolled over for short term gains, I fear for those left behind, cart blanche for amendments, bolt ons and adaptations with OR. How long before Red Watch OR are covering Blue Watch shortages, of CFS ? a year? two? No detachment pay, transport or pre arranged overtime, they will be things of the past like prescription charges, travel allowance, five years at most i give it before that is true.

Im not saying we dont need to save, and change, but it should be controlled with a balance of management and union reps who listen and represent ALL THE MEMBERSHIP.

Yeah, gotta love the s****horpe thing, I am aware of a few who speak their minds, and suspect there will be others thinking the same but keeping quiet. Yes, dont know what Starbie would have made of it all, hopefully a better fist than this, an explanation maybe, that might have been reasonable, and brought folk around, certainly wouldnt say one thing this week, and sign up the next, not without a bloody good explanation anyway.

Apathy and self interest rules im afraid at the moment, some just dont care, some just dont want any change, and some cant look ahead.

Im sure they are very interested in their former brigade, and are also following events when they can, but they have other much bigger issues to negotiate than one small services operational reserve, leave and transfer policy.

They did get about more with the membership though, every division/cpu and station, they told it how it was, good and bad, mainly bad at that time i seem to remember, and didnt make statements then u turn a week later..!

I would think it is in everyones interest member or not for Union officials to be accountable for their actions.
Big Grin Jim didn't fix it for me.

Absolutely correct.

Time the membership started to take notice.

uksub, post: 319389 Wrote:Well although I have my disagreements with the national peeps, this is mainly based on what has happened locally. The agreement on operational reserve is in effect a framework agreement, and while I agree with some service managers that some changes are needed, this was agreed to at the expense of many, I believe, and I'm not alone, so that " buddies", could return to the north bank from the south. There are massive gaping holes in the agreement local reps have signed, that have been pointed out, and the potential changes and adaptations that will follow are enormous, maybe not this year, but next or the year after.

We all know what can happen when we are signed up to framework agreements.

We used to have very good union leadership locally, and I never thought I would ever have to consider leaving the union, even after the 2003 debarkle, but clearly local reps are short sighted and have learned nothing. Very sad.

Hang on a moment, I was convinced by a someone on here in PM's, during the Region 4 Chairs election & R4 thread, to vote for the Humberside Brigade Official, as he would serve the members best?
Looks like that has not happened in this case?
As I understand it, he's doing both Humberside Brigade Officials Job & Regional Chair Jobs now?

So to say it has nothing to do with Region is incorrect?
