Looks like that has not happened in this case?
As I understand it, he's doing both Humberside Brigade Officials Job & Regional Chair Jobs now?
Well more fool you then!?......

That may be the case but not in this instance, seems the local official signed up without consulting, he claimed he "had no choice" & in hindsight he maybe shouldnt have done it!?, that was from the horses mouth when he got both barrels off me!
That was the beggining of the end for me im afraid!

There is always a choice. If he regrets it with hindsight maybe there is hope. I don't understand why there was "no choice", it may be that if there had been better consultation he may of been more aware of the support for his position with regard to saying no until questions were answered. As i remember this was recommended by reps though. Members may have agreed to sign, or refused but either way we would have stood together. Very disappointed and saddened that it has come to this.

The Judge is confused here UV, this local official, after consulting the membership on this matter, & their concensus being to tell management to 'poke it', yet you say this local official (I can only presume is a Brigade Official, with the authority to sign off agreements) went and signed up without consulting, or ignoring the consultation and verdict from members??
This surely is a breech of union rules, local standing orders and against the very ethos a Union stands, for whereby the members are the union??
There must surely follow a vote of no confidence in this official??

Its all water under the bridge now, the person concerned dropped out the game more or less straight after the debarcle.
Its an interesting turn of phrase you use when you say about the ethos of the union, the members being the union & if this is not adhered to then a vote of no confidence taken.
If this idealism was true then the current leadership would be long gone, they have been selling the membership out for yrs!

I would have thought the membership would have voted them out by now if what you say was true as they have both been elected twice now to post....possibly votes of no confidence flooding in from around the country or resolutions to annual conference condemning them at the very least

All this Despite one brigade official promising this would not be signed less than a week ago. Suspicions are that it has been agreed/signed as part of an agreement to bring north bank members back to home stations (who are over crewed), from the south bank stations (who are undercrewed), short term gain for them, but to the long term detriment of all. Sellout springs to mind for the majority of FBU and non fbu members. Yes Humberside are facing challenges as are many services, and changes are required, but looks like the representatives have been played like puppets by the management so they can bring their buddies home......! Me, had enough of the lack of vision by the reps and their short sighted views, not to mention the lie, I'm out, and may be followed by others.

How can it be all water under the bridge if it only happened a week ago UV?
Even though its Humberside, something fishy has gone off!!
According to the rumour mill, a vote of no confidence in the West Mids EC Member has fallen on stoney ground?? Anyone care to enlighten us?
