Just checked out the Grey Book. This would have been a 3rd Stage hearing conducted by an Area/Brigade Manger. If I was the CFO I would want to know which of his managers conducted this and how they came to their decision to demote rather than dismiss?
But lets be honest we all know how the rumour mill of the FS works and the CFO is lying if they are denying knowledge of this.
As long as I can remember the Grey Book procedures were used to batter our decent members and higher up the ranks they didnt seem to apply.
3rd Stage sanctions are clear and if was dismissed the CFO would have had to hear the appeal but because he didn't get dismissed this toad kept his head down and his mates promoted him a year later w*****s:mad:

Benito M….. from my time as an FBU rep I was involved in my fair share of Discipline cases. I’m presuming that All Brigades complied with the same or similar reporting procedures to the Local Authority informing them of any Discipline cases and the outcomes on a monthly or quarterly basis. I find it extremely hard to believe that any CFO would not have such details at the tip of their tongues
I hope that this is fully investigated and people are held accountable for their actions and accountable for their outcomes.

Maybe a few ferrets need to sniff out any rats.

I don’t know what’s worse the poor judgement handed down, or the fact that the CFO claims not to have been aware of this judgment. Either way things are not right, and ignorance is no excuse, as a matter of fact it makes matters worse.

Bill, Your post above…. ignorance is no excuse…..on a lighter note…. It never struck me before looking at your Forum name and other members….. I have just realised that my name was different…. I had no orange horizontal stripe across my name… I just twigged that I wasn’t a donor….however I did see a notification this morning and made one through PayPal…… so I publicly will say..Bless me Father, I was ignorant….

They are carrying out an investigation independent of interference from any other independent organisation.

Buckets of white wash will be on order. The sitting members will be seen as complicit in protecting Chiefy. Steps will be taken, lessons will be learned, training will be given, counselling will be offered to all and sundry, the list goes on, delete that is not applicable.

Normally spot on clutch. But the elephant in the room here is a media on tender hooks watching each and every move, and a panel well aware of this. Yes I agree with you but with this qualification in place. There might not be quite as much whitewash as would have been normal, but I am sure they will do what they reckon they can get away with, and there’s the rub, what can they get away with.
